- Focus Module
Laboratory notebooks are part of everyday research life: they contain measurement results, sketches of experimental setups, observations and evaluations, among other things. But what if this data is increasingly digital? Should it be printed out and pasted into the notebook, or is there a better solution? This is where electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs) come in. They also offer completely new possibilities. There is a wide range of possible solutions with a variety of approaches and functionalities.
Participants will learn what an electronic laboratory notebook is, what areas of application it has in research and teaching, and how ELNs can contribute to good research data management. They will learn about the essential functions that ELN software should provide and which common software solutions are used.
